As part of the strategic academic and professional activities within the Da Nang Economic, Finance and Technology Week 2026, the 11th International Conference on Accounting and Finance (ICOAF 2026) officially opened in Da Nang on 11 July 2026.

ICOAF 2026: A Global Platform for Shaping the Future of Finance
ICOAF 2026 was jointly organized by the University of Economics – The University of Danang, in collaboration with internationally renowned academic partners, including the University of New South Wales (Australia), Massey University (New Zealand), Southeastern Louisiana University (United States), University of Parma (Italy), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
The conference welcomed Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, together with more than 100 leading scholars, financial experts, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the world.
Discussions focused on key topics including risk management, green finance, financial technology (FinTech), digital finance, and international financial reporting standards.
A key highlight of ICOAF 2026 was the roundtable discussion on the development of the Vietnam International Financial Center in Da Nang, where experts exchanged ideas and proposed breakthrough solutions for building an internationally competitive regulatory framework and effective policies to attract cross-border investment.
Dr. Le Thi Dung: Building the Legal Foundation for a World-Class Financial Center
During the roundtable discussion on the future of the Da Nang International Financial Center, Dr. Le Thi Dung shared valuable insights from the perspective of a legal expert with more than 14 years of practical experience in foreign direct investment and corporate governance in Vietnam.
According to Dr. Le Thi Dung, transforming Da Nang into a competitive international financial center requires far more than advanced infrastructure or attractive tax incentives. The foundation must be a transparent, secure, flexible, and internationally compatible legal framework.
Speaking at the conference, Dr. Le Thi Dung stated:
“A successful international financial center must be built upon a transparent, progressive, and flexible legal ecosystem. Da Nang needs breakthrough regulatory sandbox mechanisms for FinTech, a balanced legal framework for digital assets that promotes innovation while ensuring effective oversight, and efficient commercial dispute resolution mechanisms that meet international standards. Learning from successful international financial centers such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai will provide Vietnam with the foundation to attract multinational financial institutions and expand cross-border investment.”
