Procedure for Visa Extension for Chinese Nationals in Vietnam
Step 1: Prepare the required documents for visa extension for Chinese nationals
To carry out the visa extension procedure for Chinese nationals in Vietnam, the necessary documents include:
- Visa extension application form for Chinese nationals (Form NA5);
- Sponsorship documents from the relevant agency or organization in Vietnam;
- Original passport with a minimum validity of 6 months;
- Temporary residence registration (if applicable);
- 4×6 cm photo;
- Work permit, investment certificate, proof of relationship with the sponsor, business registration certificate, etc., depending on the specific case and visa type for the Chinese national.
Step 2: Submit the visa extension application and pay the fee
After preparing the required documents, the Chinese national submits the application at one of the following locations:
Submit visa extension application in Hanoi:

Currently, the visa fees for Chinese nationals are regulated by Circular 25/2021/TT-BTC as follows:

- Multiple-entry visa:
- Valid for up to 3 months: 50 USD per visa
- Valid for more than 3 months to 6 months: 95 USD per visa
- Valid for more than 6 months to 12 months: 135 USD per visa
- Valid for more than 12 months to 2 years: 145 USD per visa
- Valid for more than 2 years to 5 years: 155 USD per visa
- Visa for individuals under 14 years old (regardless of validity period): 25 USD per visa
